About the Role
Docker is seeking a Senior Technical Writer to join our Developer Experience group. This role is pivotal in creating high-quality, accurate, and engaging documentation for Docker's products and services. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, UX designers, product managers, and other technical writers to enhance our documentation standards and practices.
Responsibilities
- Write, edit, and maintain documentation for new and updated features.
- Independently research, plan, and lead content initiatives.
- Collaborate with the UX team to integrate in-product UI text and error messages.
- Test procedures and workflows, ensuring accuracy and user-friendliness.
- Actively participate in agile development team meetings.
- Monitor and address community feedback on documentation.
- Lead documentation process improvements.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in technical writing for software products.
- Proficiency in Docs as Code workflows and tools like Markdown, HTML, and CSS.
- Experience with version control systems like Git.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in open source software documentation.
- Familiarity with programming concepts, especially in Go and/or Python.
- Experience with developer-focused tools and platforms.
