About the Role
Docker, Inc. is seeking a Sustaining Engineer to join our dynamic Support Team. This role is pivotal in assisting developers and development teams in navigating the complexities of app development by providing expert troubleshooting and support. You will work closely with Support, Production Engineering, and Product teams to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Become an expert in Docker technologies.
- Apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to address technical challenges.
- Reproduce customer issues and coordinate with product engineering for resolutions.
- Develop code-level fixes, apply patches, and re-package for customer testing.
- Build and maintain customer mirrored test environments.
- Partner with product and solution experts to co-develop reference architecture.
- Conduct deep technical post-mortems on behalf of customers.
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of technical support or sustaining engineering experience.
- Extensive experience troubleshooting Linux system issues.
- Familiarity with Windows OS and various Linux distributions (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, SLES).
- Experience with IT automation software (Puppet, Chef, Jenkins).
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Go, Python, Java, and JavaScript.
- Understanding of REST API and web applications.
