About the Role
As a Distributed Systems Engineer specializing in Rust, you will be part of a dynamic team at Status, a company dedicated to building a decentralized web. This role is crucial for developing the Nomos network, a sovereign, modular, zk-encrypted network of blockchains designed to support community-driven governance, social, and financial services.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the core infrastructure of the Nomos network using Rust.
- Collaborate with team members to design and implement system architectures that support decentralized applications.
- Troubleshoot and optimize network performance to ensure reliability and scalability.
- Engage in peer-to-peer networking and distributed systems research to enhance system capabilities.
- Communicate your findings and developments through internal and public presentations, blog posts, and academic papers.
Qualifications
- Strong coding skills in Rust are essential.
- Experience with distributed systems or peer-to-peer networking in production environments.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical details effectively.
Bonus Points
- Research experience in privacy, censorship-resistant technology, and open protocols.
- Experience in an open-source environment.
- PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
