Senior Software Engineer - Vector (Rust)

Datadog is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Vector team, focusing on developing and enhancing our high-performance observability data pipeline, Vector. This role involves significant open-source contributions and collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Direct and execute Vector's roadmap by engaging with our community and internal stakeholders.
- Develop additional components like sources, transforms, and sinks, and make architectural changes to decrease maintenance burden.
- Define project governance and contribution guidelines.
- Manage the Vector community, including reviewing contributions, triaging bug reports, and answering questions on platforms like Discord and GitHub.
Who You Are
- Experienced in systems-level programming with a strong background in Rust.
- Skilled in managing large open-source projects.
- Excellent communicator, capable of articulating thoughts clearly across teams.
- Proactive in shipping solutions and navigating through ambiguities.
