About The Team And Role
We are seeking a talented Staff Software Engineer to contribute to Poe, our exciting AI product. You'll have the thrilling opportunity to build cutting-edge features from scratch as a member of a team focused on improving the bot ecosystem and supporting bot creators on the platform.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with designers, product managers, data scientists, QA, and other engineers to deliver experiences and products for bot creators.
- Design, build, and maintain external developer APIs.
- Collaborate closely with LLM providers and create tools and infrastructure to enable the ability to easily integrate new LLMs on Poe.
- Iterate quickly on projects, from ideation to launch, using the full web technology stack.
- Be a champion for both user experience and for sustainable, scalable code practices.
Minimum Requirements
- Ability to be available for meetings and impromptu communication during Quora's “coordination hours" (Mon-Fri: 9am-3pm Pacific Time).
- 7+ years of experience working with large-scale codebases and systems, particularly web applications.
- 5+ years of experience working with React, TypeScript, and GraphQL.
- 5+ years of experience in Python or a similar programming language.
- A passion for learning and always improving yourself and the team around you.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Requirements
- Passion for Poe and Quora's products and mission.
- Passionate about API design, the developer ecosystem, and overall developer experience.
- Passion for code quality and designing elegant systems.
