About The Team And Role

We are seeking a talented Staff Software Engineer to contribute to Poe, our exciting AI product. You'll have the thrilling opportunity to build cutting-edge features from scratch as a member of a team focused on improving the bot ecosystem and supporting bot creators on the platform.

Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with designers, product managers, data scientists, QA, and other engineers to deliver experiences and products for bot creators.
Design, build, and maintain external developer APIs.
Collaborate closely with LLM providers and create tools and infrastructure to enable the ability to easily integrate new LLMs on Poe.
Iterate quickly on projects, from ideation to launch, using the full web technology stack.
Be a champion for both user experience and for sustainable, scalable code practices.

Minimum Requirements

Ability to be available for meetings and impromptu communication during Quora's “coordination hours" (Mon-Fri: 9am-3pm Pacific Time).
7+ years of experience working with large-scale codebases and systems, particularly web applications.
5+ years of experience working with React, TypeScript, and GraphQL.
5+ years of experience in Python or a similar programming language.
A passion for learning and always improving yourself and the team around you.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Requirements

Passion for Poe and Quora's products and mission.
Passionate about API design, the developer ecosystem, and overall developer experience.
Passion for code quality and designing elegant systems.
