Duties
As the Lead Information Technology Specialist at NASA, you will be at the forefront of managing and enhancing the IT systems that are crucial for our missions. Your primary role will involve leading a team of program analysts to monitor, maintain, protect, and improve the organization's IT infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Lead a team of IT professionals in the execution of their duties, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to the organization's standards.
- IT Management: Oversee the development and implementation of information security policies, procedures, and guidelines to safeguard the organization's information assets.
- Risk Management: Manage security risks associated with contractual agreements and serve as a liaison for contractors and customers, providing essential technical support.
- Communication: Utilize your strong oral communication skills to effectively convey information to various stakeholders, making clear and convincing presentations.
- Problem Solving: Identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and implement solutions to ensure the smooth operation of IT systems.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must possess specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level, which includes:
- Developing and implementing information security policies and procedures.
- Managing security risks in contractual agreements.
- Providing technical support and serving as a liaison for contractors and customers.
